To be quite honest with you, possum, I have absolutely no experience in the diabetic area......I happened to run across the key lime pie recipe and thought perhaps Inde would like it, so I posted it for her. My body cannot tolerate artificial sweeteners of any kind........every single time I've ever tried something that contained one, I got sick to my stomach. I use plain old sugar. I have many, many recipes for desserts, some have higher sugar content than others.....I'll share some of them with you and you can make your own determination. I've always felt there should be moderation in everything. As I stated in my intro, I have been focusing on lowering fats in our diet.........and changing to healthier fats. We eat desserts, but try to keep them as low fat as possible and eat them in moderation.
I agree, and the point of my previous is kindof what you just said. I just don't want to have a "diabetic section" and have it filled with poisonous recipes. Moderation
is key. Substituting a worse poison for a questionable poison on a section devoted for diabetic food, well that just doesn't support the whole theme of Zywie.com
So it would be my hope that with my little disclaimer, that the diabetic community would create tastey healthy dishes and recipes, avoiding these known not so healthy ingredients.
So then, create a diabetic section also? Not only with recipes but discussion section too? We could save lives here too, you know.
